10 months!
Brendan is 10 months. He's growing up fast and no longer our little baby.
- This past month he started walking with the help of his push carts and will take a few steps unassisted - his balance isn't very good yet but he's working on it.
- He babbles mama and dada all the time and if you tell him to wave bye bye he'll wave.
- He starting to drop naps so instead of 3 naps its usually just 1 or 2. And he's starting to move his bedtime back 1 hour to 730 or 8.
- His favorite food is yogurt. He's still eating pureed baby food and doesn't care for anything with any texture. He will self-feed fruit puffs and he's getting better at getting them into his mouth. He loves his formula and his recently added another bottle to his daily intake - I'm expecting a growth spurt soon.
- He loves cars and trucks, girls, and anything with water. His still loves his ball pit, maracas and his new favorite is his blocks.
- He laughs and giggles all the time especially when you chase him, tickle him, or play peek-a-boo.
- He's got 4 teeth and 2 more are working their way down.

First trip to the State Fair
On Saturday we all went to the Arizona State Fair. Brendan's favorite things were the animals and the game where you roll the ball up the ramp to get the race horse to move (he was just cheering us along but he liked the sounds of the game). We came home with several Curious George stuffed animals (Rob won the large one!) and a large floppy puppy (I won that one). And of course we ate - pizza, hotdogs, roasted corn, snow cones and fry bread. We took Brendan on his first ride, a merry-go-round, but he wasn't too sure about it and end up snuggling against me until the ride was over - it was a loud and getting near his nap time.

Pumpkin Patch
We took Brendan to a pumpkin patch this weekend. He had fun climbing around with the pumpkins and liked looking at the animals. We tried the corn maze but after going in circles too many times, we took the side exit out.

Change to the blog
I've made a few changes to the blog. Hopefully you see a slide show of pictures from the pumpkin patch. I've also added some new links on the right side - Brendan's scrapbook and my cake creations.
First Steps
This past week Brendan started taking his first steps. The most he's taken so far is 6 but he keeps getting better everyday - look out world, Brendan is on the move! (I'll try to add some video later today)

He's on the move!
This week Brendan started walking using his push toys - he hasn't yet tried to venture out without holding on to something. Watch the funny expression on his face in the outdoor video and make sure you have your volume turned up for the indoor one to hear his babbles.

9 months
Brendan's 9 month birthday
He had his pediatrician checkup yesterday and he checked out healthy. He wanted to eat the doctor's stethascope and he had fun crinkling up the paper on the exam table. No shots for this visit, so we were all happy about that.
stats
height: 30.5 inches, 95%
weight: 23 pounds, 90%
head circumference: 19 inches, 85%

updates
- He's crawling all over the place and loves to climb over things (especially people who are lying on the floor). We decided to see if he could crawl up the stairs and he went right to the top! He's pulling himself up on everything and can cruise along the sofa or wall holding on with just one hand but hasn't taken any steps away from a solid support. His favorite thing to do is to jump up and down - I call him "my litttle jumping bean". He'll jump up and down holding onto the sides of his crib or packplay and he loves it when you bounce him.
- He's babbling "mama" and "dada"
- He loves to play with his toys - his current favorites are his ball pit, maracas and these little toy cars that make a noise when you push them. All toys (along with everything else) go in his mouth.
- He's got 3 teeth (2 bottom, 1 top).
- Sleeping and napping well - 12 hours at night and 2 to 3 naps during the day. He sings and babbles in his crib before going to sleep at night and when he wakes up in the morning - its fun to listen to his babbles on the baby moniter.
- He's growing fast staying in the 90/95 percentiles - he's already wearing size 18 month clothing and size 5 diaper. Most of his weight is in his thighs!
- He loves his milk and still has little interest in foods - he eats a little bit a fruit and vegetable baby food everyday but no self feeding yet.
- He loves short adventures out to the store - the shopping cart is a fun ride for him and he loves getting attention from othe people.
- In the mornings we go outside to watch the schoolbus pick up the neighborhood kids - he loves the bus! In the evenings we go to the park and watch the kids play tag on the playground - he loves watching the kids running around and making lots of noise.
- He loves water. He likes to play with his rubber ducks in the bath and to lay down kicking his feet to make waves in the water. He likes to watch the fountain on our front patio and has a lot of fun when Daddy lets him play with the water (which always results in one very wet baby!).

digital scrapbooking
I finally finished my first 2 digital scrapbooking pages! I'm taking an online photoshop class through Digital Scrapbook Place to learn a little bit more about the software. These pages are from the baseball game we went to in June. Its going to take awhile to catch up with 9 months of photos plus my pregnancy - hopefully I can finish his first year scrapbook before he goes to college!

firestation tour
Last week we went on a tour of our neighborhood firestation with my MOMs club. Its so close to our house, we were able to walk. Brendan loved it - big trucks and water, 2 of his favorite things. They gave him a hat which he enjoyed chewing on.
What happened to our little boy - in the picture with Nicole, he looks so grown up.

mama
Brendan started saying "mama" over the weekend - he only says it when he's getting fussy (ready for a nap or when he wants to get out of his crib in the morning) and wants to be held.
Saturday we went to my MOMs Club end of the summer potluck. He got to crawl around in the grass and play in the sand for the first time - its fun to get dirty! He was too young to play the games but he had fun watching the older kids run around.
